Handwoven African Brown Binga Basket

$33.53 $47.82

Shipping to United States: $13.66

Made by the Batonga women in Binga, Zimbabwe, this basket and has been lovingly handwoven using a craft that has been passed down generation after generation. Using the Ilala Palm which is native to the region, the women sit after a hard day's work in the fields to make these beautiful baskets which are traditionally used for carrying fruit and vegetables.

Over time in the western world these baskets are used differently, sometimes as wall art, fruitbowl or just as a home accessory to put on that console in the hallway. It is a great conversation starter. Why not gift it to someone to put in their home?

Diametre is 32.5cm with a depth of 7.5cm

There are other baskets made of sisal, also availabe in the shop. A different weaving method but equally as beautiful. mixing the different textures for a feature wall would be a good idea.
